Bio
Sophie Patenaude doesn’t sing because she has all the answers; she sings because she has a song. A new and eminent name in folk rock/Americana, Sophie’s music realizes the human experience as poetry to be sung and literature to be lived. She interprets the struggles, victories, and stories of the layman to be just as remarkable as any other tale. Through her brutally honest lyricism, driving melodies, and raw, organic production pulled from her deep New England roots, she’s crafting a sound that delivers warmth and wisdom and demands you turn up the volume and sing along. Whether you’re moving through heartbreak, longing for a taste of home, craving change in the world around you, or rocking out on backroads with the top down, Sophie has saved a space just for you to feel seen, heard, and understood.
Selling out shows around New England, Sophie is quickly making her mark. Singing with a voice described by Kara DioGuardi as conveying “beautiful pain,” Sophie can transport her audience to the exact moment she is singing about; this vulnerability has become her superpower and her sound. In her community, she is recognized as an artist who brings joy, faith, authenticity, and conviction to every performance. Her growing fanbase and catalog are proof of her magnetic appeal. Her journey has taken her from classical to gospel, from rock to jazz, from country to blues, creating a unique sonic blueprint that is equal parts familiar and fresh.
